Google Reader Share

This is really a post about why I decided to write a UserScript for sharing in Google Reader.

Like many other people, I was pretty pissed when Google decided to ax the sharing features in Google Reader and replace it with G+ sharing. However, unlike many other people, I didn't really use the sharing features in Google Reader for actual sharing. Well I did but it was actually to share with Twitter.

For the longest time, every article I read on Google Reader that I wanted to share on Twitter, I copied, shortened, and pasted to Twitter. It was a hassle. Then someone told me about using Twitterfeed in combination with the Google Reader Shared items feed. Twitterfeed is simple and awesome, give it a RSS feed, and it'll post it to Twitter. With the combination, all I had to do was click 'Share' and Twitterfeed would post it to Twitter for me. I could even control the frequency and number of posts that would go to Twitter. But when Google Reader 'upgraded', it all went away.

But now, using a UserScript I created, I am able to share my items to Twitter again.

New Site in Drupal

So I decided to recreate my site using Drupal 7. Partly just for fun but mainly because I miss doing Drupal and I haven't worked with 7 yet. Also this will allow me to create Drupal modules for my own personal use (and if they're good enough I will submit them to Drupal :D). You'll notice the site looks mostly the same, that's because I ported the theme from Wordpress over. There are still some style issues, mainly with blog posts, but I'll fix them as time goes on.
