As a .NET Application Developer, I use ASP.NET, C#.NET, and SQL Server on a daily basis to develop and maintain top of the line logistics and transportation management software.

Duties include:

  • Regular development and maintenance of applications
  • Creating console apps and ad hoc tools to automate everyday tasks
  • Using NUnit and Code Coverage to ensure proper test coverage of applications

As an Independent Contractor, I was brought on as a PHP programmer to help the Refactr team build web applications for startup and Fortune 500 companies.

Online Manager (January 2009 – January 2010)

As Online Manager, I managed the Online Department which consisted of one Web Designer, one Webmaster, and three Web Programmers. I also managed the Business Technology Coordinator, a position that was created to be a link between Business and Online.

As manager, I attended monthly manager meetings with the Administrative division. As a project manager, I held and attended meetings with various departments to gather and discuss specifications and requirements. I also managed the development and deployment of both departmental and cross-departmental projects.

During my time as manager, I coordinated and launched both a major revamp of the website and an internal intranet system. The website won Best Publication Web Site from Associated Collegiate Press while I was manager. We also worked with Newscloud to launch a Facebook application, an interactive community-based platform, where users can spread news about the University of Minnesota campus and participate in challenges and earn prizes.

I was voted Administration Employee of the Year for 2008-2009 year and Most Motivated Administration Employee for Summer 2009 by Minnesota Daily staff members.

Webmaster (October 2008 – January 2009)

As a Webmaster in the Online Department, I took the role of senior programmer and Linux administrator. While still maintaining the duties of Web Developer, I took on the additional duties of mentoring follow programmers as well as managing the Linux servers.

I was voted Most Knowledgeable Developer, Most Motivated Administration Employee, and Outstanding Administration Employee for Fall 2008 by Minnesota Daily staff members.

Web Developer (May 2007 – October 2008)

As a Web Developer in the Online Department, I worked on maintaining and developing new features for the website (mndaily.com). I also maintain and built internal tools and applications for other departments.

During my time as Web Developer, I helped develop a program to manage the stories that newsroom produces. I was involved in a major redesign of the website where we moved the entire website to Drupal 6. I also wrote several modules in Drupal including a timecard application and an employee management application.

I was Employee of the Month for June 2008.

 

University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center

IT Specialist

As a member of the IT team, I was responsible for helping maintain the cancer website as well as work on any projects or tools requested by doctors and researchers.

Intern

I worked with a small team to upgrade their internal workflow system to the next version. I followed code documentation and customization guides to implement software changes using Java. I also constructed test cases to test the software as well as implement new user interface designs.

Technical Assistant

As a Technical Assistant at District Technology, I helped provide technology support for faculty and students all over the district. I worked on both individual Macs and PCs as well as set up and maintain school computer labs.
